“Give a man a fish, you’ll feed him for a day. Teach a man HOW to fish and you feed him for a lifetime” 🤷🏼♀️Anyone else have those urges to do it alllll for their kiddos?? Bending over backwards to make their every whim come true. In fact... I USED to be that mom🤷🏼♀️ It was a badge of honor to me, I was PROUD of all I kept busy doing daily! I truthfully believed I was better than the moms who didn’t do it😬 I didnt realize I was in denial and using it as a reason to neglect myself🙄 #butthatsanotherstory😂 I was too busy making them Pinterest worthy lunches with the princess sandwich or heart cutter, never making them eat veggies because... MY KIDS WERE PICKY🤦🏼♀️ Making different things for different kids became second nature. I was a picky eater and they picked up my bad habit x1000🙄 Buying veggies and fruit each week in “hopes” THIS would be the week we actually ate it, just to pitch it. It was an ongoing battle for years. 👉🏻Hubs and I would team up to “change” things... only to be exhausted a few weeks later throwing in the towel with 3 kiddos fighting us. Aaaaand then it all changed, we realized we needed a NEW way to do things. Enough was enough🙅🏼♀️ 👉🏻👉🏻It was up to US as their parents to TEACH these girls NOW before they grew into an annoying picky adult like meee🤣 I had to learn to lead by example😬 We started prepping meals as a family “insert kids eye rolls”. Having them collect all the foods to prep, wash them, prep if old enough, help with chopping... creating NEW memories with the foods. The more we did it, the less resistance we faced. They were more willing to try new things over time. Not to mention the LIFE SKILLS THEY’VE LEARNED👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 They soon learned new ways to make things and which they preferred. Kiley recently learned snap peas on the stove with her sisters fave seasoning is the BEST! ✨Gabby helped eat the first batch so making more🤣 Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your child’s willingness to eat balanced. 👉🏻But when you have SIMPLE plans and consistent??
